New Movies This Week

*DRAMA*   OutKast's André Benjamin stars as Jimi Hendrix in this revealing biopic from Academy Award-winning writer-director John Ridley (12 Years A Slave). Covering a year in Hendrix's life from 1966-67 as an unknown backup guitarist playing New York's Cheetah Club to making his mark in London's music scene up until his Monterey Pop triumph, the film presents an intimate portrait of the sensitive young musician on the verge of becoming a rock legend.

What ensues is a hilarious wedding charade as they try to pull off the big con, and an unexpected budding bromance between Doug and his fake best man Jimmy.

*ACTION/CRIME*    Retired cop Tony (Tony Sirico) finds he is unable to forget the murder of his younger brother, who was in the mob. He is outraged when he finds out the man he holds responsible is getting out of prison after only two years. He needs to find answers fast and if necessary, seek revenge, Italian-style. Joined by his attorney nephew, Gaetano (Brendan Fehr), he infiltrates the world of organized crime and gets lost in a labyrinth of greed, dead ends, and lies. It is only at the violent conclusion that he discovers the shocking truth that threatens to kill him. A retired detective Tony Zarra (Tony Sirico) is pushed into the world of crime after the murder of his younger brother.
